Coumestrol
is an Isoflavone found in plants and herbs such as Pueraria Mirifica
or Kwao Krua Kao, Red Clover, Soy , Yam and Alfalfa Sprouts where
Isoflavones are types of Flavonoids found in the same plants and
has estrogenic actions on peripheral reproductive tissues. Coumestrol
is classified as Phytoestrogen
since it is a plant-derived nonsteroidal compound that possesses
estrogen-like biological activity and it's environmentally derived
substance that bind to the oestrogen (estrogen) receptor (ER). The
Phytoestrogen
Coumestrol has estrogenic actions on peripheral reproductive
tissues.
Studies show that in animal models, Coumestrol is an atypical
oestrogen that does not stimulate uterine cellular hyperplasia.
Since Coumestrol had lack of true estrogenic activity in
the study, it was characterised by the inability to cause cytosolic
ER depletion, nuclear ER accumulation, or to stimulation nuclear
type II sites which characteristically precede estrogenic stimulation
of cellular DNA synthesis and proliferation.
Anne
Selene's Pueraria Mirifica or Kwao Krua Kao capsules MiroHealth Tonic and MiroHealth Extra is a herb that contains
several valuable Phytoestrogens
such as Daidzein,
Genistein,
Puerarin, and Mirificin while Miroestrol
as an active role in how they act in this complex body system.
