Daidzein
is an isoflavone found in plants and herbs such as Pueraria Mirifica
or Kwao Krua Kao, Red Clover, Soy and Yam where Isoflavones are
types of Flavonoids found in the same plants. Daidzein is
classified as Phytoestrogen
since it is a plant-derived nonsteroidal compound that possesses
estrogen-like biological activity.
Daidzein
has in fact a low affinity for the oestrogen (estrogen) receptor
with lower magnitude than estradiol but has still been demonstrated
to have estrogenic effects. It is metabolised with urine and half-lives
is less than 12 hours.
