Genistein
is nonsteroidal, estrogen-like isoflavones found in plants and herbs
such as Pueraria Mirifica or Kwao Krua Kao, Red Clover, Soy, Yam,
Alfalfa Sprouts and also at lower concentrations in Sunflower seeds,
Pinto Bean seeds, Lima Bean seeds where it also acts as an antioxidant
where Genistein removes damaging free radicals and reduces
lipid peroxidation. Gensistein also prevents the formation
of hearth attacks and strokes by simply acting as anticlotting agent
and it increases the activity of other antioxidant enzymes such
as glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase and glutathione
reductase. Of all the isoflavones, Genistein has the second
strongest estrogenic activity after Miroestrol.
Diets containing Genistein have been associated with a number
of beneficial effects such as reduced risk of breast cancer, prostate
cancer, heart disease, and a decrease in menopausal symptoms.
Genistein is classified as Genistein Phytoestrogen
since it is a plant-derived nonsteroidal compound that possesses
estrogen-like biological activity. It is said that Genistein
has these biological activities; Antilipidemic, Antimicrobial,
Antiosteoporotic, Estrogenic,
Fungicide,
Hypocholesterolemic, Nematicide,
Nematistat, Peroxidase-Inhibitor,
Phytoalexin
and Uterotrophic.
Genistein
has in fact a low affinity for the oestrogen (estrogen) receptor
with lower magnitude than estradiol but has still been demonstrated
to have estrogenic effects. It is metabolised with urine and half-lives
is less than 12 hours.
Anne Selene's Pueraria Mirifica or Kwao Krua Kao capsules MiroHealth Tonic and MiroHealth Extra is a herb that contains
several valuable Phytoestrogens
such as Daidzein,
Genistein, Puerarin, and Mirificin while Miroestrol
as an active role in how they act in this complex body system.
